The image to the left is a Snail Kite. The damage due to Hurricane Andrew would have disrupted some of the organisms low down on the food web, which would cause the animals higher up to be at a loss for food. For example, the sawgrass would have been torn apart and destroyed because of the hurricane, which would have left organisms like the apple snail without a dependable food producer. This could affect the snail kite, which is a bird who only eats the apple snail, so their population could be in danger.
However, not all implications would have been in destruction. As the hurricane rolled through, the mosquito fish would have had a hard time staying alive. With a limited population of the fish, the mosquito population, who are the primary prey of the mosquito fish would flourish due to their predators have been taken down. This is most likely how what would happen if one organism got kill or ruin. First the saw grass breaks off and the snail wont have any food. The apple snails wont have energy to survive. The apple snail will die out. Then the Snail kite would not have any food. Then the snail kite will slowly die out. The American alligator would die out because the snail kite will die. If only animal one the food web dies out then the predator will die after a while. When one thing gets affect in the food web. Then the whole web get affected. Another example is if the snail kite die out. The apple snail will soon over populate. The American alligator will die because the snail kite is almost extinct.
